Exhibition – Summer Bonsai Cultural Exhibition for Kids – Results of Votes
During the Summer Bonsai Cultural Exhibition for Kids that was held from Sat. July 20 to Wed. August 28, we held a vote for visitor’s favorite bonsai amongst 10 well-known ones in the museum. We will announce those results here.
In total 830 people voted! Thank you all so much for taking the time to vote.
3rd Place: Goyo Matsu (Japanese White Pine) Named Chiyo-no-Matsu – A-100
The biggest bonsai in our collection. Its powerful form stands out in our Bonsai Garden.
2nd Place: Kan-Zakura (Cherry) – A-098
During the lingering chills of March, it blooms with light pink flowers. It is a must-see during the short period it shows off with these gorgeous colors.
1st Place: Yama-Momiji (Japanese Maple) named Musashi-ga-Oka – A-073
A zoki bonsai that one can enjoy at any time in the year. In spring it changes from having small buds to having lush leaves by the early summer. There is also a great contrast between its green summer leave and its leafless wintery form. While all of these can be appreciated for difference reasons, its bright red autumn form is a sight to behold.
