Saitama Triennale 2023 – Civic Project
Saitama City Cultural Facility Spice of Art Project

For Saitama Triennale 2023 (October 7 – December 10, 2023), the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum will take part in a Civic Project called the “Saitama City Cultural Facility Spice of Art Project”. This is being held simultaneously by the project curator IIJIMA Koji here and at the Iwatsuki Ningyo Museum, the Cartoon Art Museum, and the Railway Museum.

For this project, Curator IIJIMA has invited artists ICHIKAWA Taira and KADO Bunpei to create exhibits in each of these facilities which show off their collections, such as bonsai. The name of this exhibit is “ICHIKAWA Taira X KADO Bunpei Journey through the Microcosm and Macrocosm”.

We hope that you will enjoy the traditional culture and art of bonsai that we introduce at the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum with the new spice of modern art applied to it, as it has a taste that one cannot experience usually.

※The items for this project will be displayed together with the bonsai displayed in the Collection Gallery and Bonsai Garden as part of the “Seasonal Bonsai Exhibition, Shiki: Four Seasons”.
