This ukiyoe woodblock print is a kind of Omochae, or toy picture, in which many kinds of bonsai are drawn together as a single theme. This is a kind of drawing that was popular enough to have its own name, Monozukushie (enumeration picture). Not only can many kinds of plants be seen in this picture, but also numerous kinds of pots and color schemes.
