This one of many paintings that makes children playing their subject. In this painting a mother is hanging a mosquito net while her child clings to her at her feet, frightened by lightening that’s come into the room. Just outside of the room in the garden, we see a miniature garden thought to be a replica of Enoshima Island. Just over this we see a water holding vessel from which a small fountain with a frog figure on it hanging down.
