This type of stone is an example of one of the Seven Kamo Stones, which are stones with a connection to the Kamo River water system. They give off a faint purple tint. Stones such as these with a depression on their surfaces are known as waterpool stones. Through them, one can imagine a vista of a water’s edge. The rich feel to the surface gives a great sense of elegance.
