The upper course of the Kamo River in Kyoto is known for the excellent stones found there. This stone is arched at its corners, giving it a light feeling as if it is floating. The center of the stone also boasts a hollowed-out section. Suiseki stones of this type that appear to hold water and dew in these crevices are called waterpool stones and are highly valued among enthusiasts.
