Kamuikotan Stones are found in the Ishikari River in Hokkaido, Japan. They are incredibly hard and have a lustrous gloss. Suiseki stones with a flat verticle surface like this piece are often called doha-ishi (meaning slope stone). By viewing how it softly spreads out like a plain coming from a mountain, one can experience a serene natural vista.
