The strong thick roots, the branches which seem to flicker and wave like flames, to the consistency of the naturalist design give this bonsai the appearance of a large tree. Starting with famed industrialist Kaiichiro Nezu and then former Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi, this bonsai has long been cherished by many bonsai enthusiasts. It was named the first Kicho Bonsai, or bonsai of great importance, by the Nippon Bonsai Association.
