The name of this bonsai, Shirakami, comes from the mountain range that runs from Akita Prefecture to Aomori Prefecture and is known as a natural home for precious beach tree groves. This yoseue, or group planting, of beach trees with their particularly white trunks rising straight up, give us an intense impression of looking deep into a forest.
