Maiko beach, located in the Tarumi ward of Kobe (in the Kansai region), is known as a location of scenic beauty, with its white sands and pine groves. The multiple trunks in this bonsai rise from a single root system in a style called netsuranari, and remind us of Maiko beach which is the origin of its name.
