This bonsai is in the cascade style and boasts a trunk that rises then drops at a sharp angle. The layers of luxuriant foliage at the end of its branches that swoop down call to mind a mist that floats and sways as it travels through a gorge. This is where the tree gets its name, Hakuun, which means white cloud.
